Jade and Alexander kept their wedding small: 30 close friends and family, two days, and a base in the foothills of Mallorca’s Tramontana Mountains at La Residencia, a Belmond hotel that began life as an artists’ retreat. Their aim was a day that felt unhurried and European, with minimal styling and the old stone buildings, terracotta tones and olive groves left to do most of the work. Local florals, a custom textile print and two Danielle Frankel looks for Jade carried that texture through the weekend, and the garden ceremony, held in late-afternoon golden light beneath the mountains, was the heart of it. I shot the wedding on 16mm, letting the film’s grain and warmth follow the light as it moved across the stone and the faces of the people there.
